Transliteration
音译 yīnyì (transliteration) is the transcription of the pronunciation of the sound of each Hanzi. In x year, 拼音 pīnyīn (Pinyin) was adopted and uses the Latin alphabet. a, b, c, ch, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, sh, t, u, u, w, x, y, z, zh. In Taiwan, the 注音 zhùyīn (Zhuyin) method is used b, p, m, f, d, t, n, l, g, k, h, j, q, x, zh, ch, sh, r, z, c, s, y/a, o, e, ei, ai, ao, ou, an, eng/ong, er, i/yi, u,wu, yu/u.
Hanzi
Simplified vs. Traditional
简体字 jiǎntǐ zì (simplified characters) are used in China while 繁体字 fántǐ zì (traditional characters) are used in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.
Brush Strokes
笔画 bǐhuà (Brush strokes) are the fundamentals for writing Hanzi. There are x total but the basics can be found written in the Hanzi 永 yǒng (Forever).
Radicals
部首 bù shǒu (radical) is the component that comprises a Hanzi. Traditionally, one component is determined for use in a Hanzi dictionary for looking up Hanzi. Today, this is also indexed by Pinyin in China and Zhuyin in Taiwan.

HSK
HSK is 汉语水平考试 (Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì) or "Chinese Proficiency Test". There are six levels from 1 to 6 with 1 being the easiest.
