Lower Beginner (CEFR A1)

Grammar

Richard Webb studied Japanese in Year 7 and went to Osaka, Japan for 6 months as an exchange student. Majored in Japanese at Monash University. Studied at Saitama University for 1 year (classes taught in Japanese) and passed JLPT N1. Lived and worked in Tokyo for 4 years.

Authored the book "80/20 Japanese" with a new method to better understand Japanese language through visualization of its structure. Focus on the verb as the central piece of a sentence and particles defining the role of all other pieces of information in relation to the verb.

Key problem of English speakers is trying to make Japanese conform to English structure which causes confusion and difficulty in understanding the language properly.
